Based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, Blacktrac is a family-run compact tractor and machinery dealership and one of the UK’s leading compact tractor specialists, supplying compact tractors, compact wheel loaders, attachments, implements, parts and aftersales support to customers across the UK.

As the UK’s largest Solis dealer, we supply over 300 tractors per year, along with one of the country’s largest ranges of compact tractor attachments and implements. From smallholdings and equestrian properties through to estates, sports clubs, contractors, local authorities and commercial users, we supply new and used compact tractors, machinery, attachments and implements to customers nationwide.

Whilst the business has continued to grow year after year, our approach has remained the same: to offer honest advice, quality products and genuine support from people who truly understand the machinery they sell.

Built Through Experience, Hard Work & A Passion For Machinery

Blacktrac was founded by Jake and Catherine Blackman, growing from humble beginnings into one of the UK’s best-known compact tractor dealerships.

Jake originally came from a farming background before beginning his working life within commercial landscaping. Through years of hands-on experience operating machinery on a daily basis, his interest in tractors and equipment naturally developed into buying and selling machinery.

What started as a small operation steadily grew through hard work, repeat business and word of mouth. Over time, Blacktrac expanded from supplying machinery locally to serving customers across the entire UK, and as the business grew, so did its reputation.

Today, Jake and Catherine are joined within the business by their sons Joe and Oscar, helping continue the growth of Blacktrac whilst maintaining the family-run values the company was built upon.

Supplying hundreds of tractors and machines each year, Blacktrac still operates with the same mindset it started with, which is to work hard, be honest, support customers properly and always strive to improve.

As a Solis main dealer, we supply the Solis compact tractor range alongside used compact tractors, machinery, attachments and implements for customers throughout the UK.

Blacktrac’s Wellingborough premises includes a large showroom, warehouse, workshop and parts department, allowing customers to view machinery in person and speak directly with our team.

We physically stock a large quantity of tractors, compact wheel loaders, attachments, implements and genuine spare parts on-site. Customers can compare models, sit on machines, see tractors, attachments and implements first-hand, discuss their requirements and receive honest, expert advice from our knowledgeable team.
Having the showroom, workshop and parts department together at our Wellingborough site also means customers can see the machinery before buying and speak directly with the people involved in preparing, servicing and supporting it afterwards.

Our facilities allow us to professionally prepare and inspect machinery before delivery whilst also supporting customers with compact tractor servicing and repairs, warranty work and ongoing technical support.

Jake Blackman

Founder & Director

Jake founded Blacktrac alongside Catherine and has played a key role in growing the business into one of the UK’s leading compact tractor dealerships. Coming from a farming and commercial landscaping background, Jake has years of hands-on experience within the machinery industry and remains heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the business. Despite the growth of Blacktrac, he can still often be found helping in the yard, supporting the team or delivering machinery to customers.

Catherine Blackman

Founder & Administration

Catherine co-founded Blacktrac and oversees the accounts and administration side of the business. As an important part of the company’s day-to-day operations, Catherine helps ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly whilst continuing to support the growth and organisation of the business.

Joe Blackman

Machinery Sales & Purchasing

Joe plays a major role within the buying and selling side of Blacktrac and is heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the business. From sourcing machinery and managing stock through to helping customers find the right equipment, Joe is a key part of the continued growth of the company.

Oscar Blackman

Workshop, Parts & Aftersales

Oscar works across the workshop, parts and aftersales side of the business and plays an important role in the day-to-day running of Blacktrac. Supporting the workshop whilst helping customers with servicing, warranty and parts enquiries, Oscar helps ensure customers continue to receive support long after delivery day.

Giles

Sales Specialist

Giles is a long-standing member of the Blacktrac team and is often the first point of contact for customers when calling or emailing the business. With extensive product knowledge and a friendly approach, Giles helps customers find the right machinery and equipment for their requirements.

Liam

Service Technician

Liam is one of Blacktrac’s experienced service technicians, working both within the workshop and out on-site in the mobile service van. From servicing and repairs through to machinery preparation and diagnostics, Liam plays an important role in keeping customers’ machinery running properly.

Alfie

Workshop Technician

Alfie is primarily based within the workshop, where he is involved in servicing, repairs, machinery preparation and assembly of tractors, attachments and equipment. Working closely alongside the rest of the workshop team, Alfie helps ensure machines are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

Ian

Deliveries & Handover Specialist

Ian is responsible for machinery deliveries and customer handovers, meaning he is often the person customers first meet when receiving their new tractor, attachment or loader. Ian helps ensure machines are delivered professionally whilst also assisting customers with setup and operational handovers.

Joe

Marketing & Media

Joe manages Blacktrac’s marketing, photography, videography and social media content. From product videos and machinery photography through to online content and media creation, Joe helps showcase the business and keep customers updated with the latest machinery, arrivals and projects.
